Odisha CM Launches Pragati Prabah, Felicitates Jharsuguda Farmer Hridananda Bisoi

Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi on Sunday launched Pragati Prabah, the official mouthpiece of the Odisha government, published by the Department of Information and Public Relations (I&PR).

The CM described the publication as a reflection of the state’s development journey and a platform to showcase welfare initiatives.

During the event, the Chief Minister felicitated Hridananda Bisoi, a highly educated farmer from Lakhanpur village in Jharsuguda district.

Despite holding degrees in Physics, Mechanical Engineering, and an MBA, Bisoi chose farming over corporate jobs.

By adopting modern techniques such as drip irrigation and mulching, he has become a “lakhpati farmer,” symbolising the potential of agriculture as a sustainable and profitable career.

Majhi praised Bisoi’s entrepreneurial spirit, calling farmers “the real startups of India,” and emphasised that their success aligns with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of Atmanirbhar Bharat.

He directed the Jharsuguda District Collector to extend support to Bisoi, including cold-chain facilities and agricultural infrastructure.

The CM also highlighted key schemes such as the Chief Minister’s Krishi Udyog Yojana, PM-KISAN, and CM-KISAN, reaffirming the government’s commitment to farmers’ welfare.

The event was attended by Advisor to CM Prakash Mishra, former MLA Nauri Nayak, I&PR Director Anuj Kumar Das Pattnayak, Jharsuguda I&PR Officer Sushree Krushnakeshi Baliarsingh, and other officials.
