Odisha CM Launches ‘Jeevan Zindabad’ Campaign to Champion Mental Wellness and Prevent Suicide
On the occasion of World Suicide Prevention Day, Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi unveiled a transformative statewide initiative titled “Jeevan Zindabad,” aimed at tackling the rising concerns around mental health and suicide prevention.
Addressing citizens through a heartfelt message, Majhi emphasised that suicide is not a solution but a signal of fragile mental health.
He urged individuals, especially the youth, to cherish life as a divine gift and seek support during emotional distress. “No problem is without a solution,” he stated, assuring that the government stands firmly with those facing personal challenges.
The campaign will be implemented across all districts of Odisha, engaging government departments, educational institutions, and civil society organizations. Citizens are encouraged to report cases of harassment or blackmail, with authorities promising swift and strict action.
“Jeevan Zindabad” will feature awareness walks, cultural programs, and motivational sessions to foster resilience and promote mental wellness.
The Chief Minister called for the day to be more than symbolic—urging people to make a renewed commitment to life, joy, and collective healing.
This initiative marks a significant step in Odisha’s public health strategy, placing emotional well-being at the heart of governance and community action
