Odisha CM launches ‘Bikashita Gaon Bikashita Odisha’ for accelerated rural development

Bhubaneswar,(Orissa Today) Feb 5: Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi on Wednesday launched the ambitious ‘Bikashita Gaon Bikashita Odisha’ scheme, a transformative initiative aimed at accelerating rural development across the state.
The launch event was attended by Panchayati Raj and Rural Development Minister Rabi Narayan Naik, Khurdha MLA Prasanta Jagadev, Bhubaneswar-Ekamra MLA Babu Singh, Collector Chanchal Rana, and other dignitaries.
During his address, the Chief Minister emphasized the need to separate politics from development to ensure the state’s progress. He reiterated the government’s commitment to uplifting rural areas, quoting Mahatma Gandhi’s famous words, “India lives in its villages.”
The state government has earmarked ₹5,000 crore over the next five years for the initiative, which will focus on enhancing rural infrastructure, improving connectivity, and addressing the specific needs of villagers. The scheme aims to bridge critical development gaps and drive holistic growth in rural Odisha by implementing sustainable projects.
‘Bikashita Gaon Bikashita Odisha’ is designed to transform villages by improving civic amenities, educational facilities, and economic opportunities. The initiative will create long-lasting assets and strengthen rural communities, marking a significant step toward achieving the vision of a developed Odisha.
