Odisha CM launches 14 industrial projects worth ₹5,770 crore

Bhubaneswar, Apr 3 : In a major boost to Odisha’s industrialization drive, Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi on Thursday inaugurated and laid the foundation stone for 14 transformative industrial projects with a cumulative investment of Rs 5,770 crore.

According to official sources, these promising projects are expected to generate over 37,030 employment opportunities across the state, underscoring the Odisha government’s commitment to converting investment intentions into actionable projects and its unwavering focus on ease and speed of doing business.

The projects will be established at the new Industrial Estate Haldipada, Industrial Estate Mundamba, and Khordha Textile Park, Kalibeti.

These 14 projects span a wide range of sectors, including food processing, textiles, apparel & technical textiles, mechanical and electrical capital goods, packaging, and refractory industries.

Leading global and Indian firms, such as Jupiter Tatravagonka Railwheel Factory Private Limited, Polimiroir India Private Limited, Shalimar Glass Works Private Limited, and IFGL Refractories Limited, were among the key participants in this initiative.

Speaking on the occasion, the Chief Minister stated, “These projects are more than just industrial units; they are growth engines for our state, employment generators for our youth, and milestones on our journey to a Samrudh Odisha (Prosperous Odisha).”

He added, “We are building an Odisha that is productive, inclusive, sustainable, and globally competitive.”

Odisha Industry Minister Sampad Chandra Swain, emphasizing the state’s focus on industrial infrastructure development, skill enhancement, and regional industrial diversification, reaffirmed the government’s commitment to attracting investments and ensuring timely project execution and efficient service delivery.

“With new industrial parks, modernized ITIs, and global partnerships in skilling and next-generation manufacturing, Odisha is now poised to lead an industrial resurgence in Purvodaya (Eastern India’s industrial growth),” Swain stated.

Following the groundbreaking ceremony at Haldiapada Industrial Park, the Chief Minister performed the groundbreaking for Nestlé India’s Mega Food Factory, followed by the inauguration of Varun Beverages Ltd.’s state-of-the-art production facility.

The grand culmination took place at New Textile Park, Kalibeti, with a site visit to the under-construction facility of Trimetro Garments India Pvt. Ltd. (EPIC Group) at Khordha Textile Park.

During the visit, the foundation stone was laid for workers’ hostel facilities to support the apparel cluster development.

The Chief Minister also inaugurated operational units, including Varun Beverages at Khordha, and led the groundbreaking of marquee projects, such as Nestlé India’s manufacturing unit and Jupiter Tatravagonka Railwheel Factory Private Limited’s unit.

Additionally, he launched new industrial hubs, including Haldiapada Industrial Estate and Khordha One, showcasing the government’s push for infrastructure development.

The event highlighted Odisha’s emergence as a strategic trade and investment hub in eastern India, with world-class infrastructure, deep-draft ports, and policy-driven facilitation mechanisms that position the state as a preferred destination for global supply chains.(UNI)
