Odisha CM Hosts Senior IFS Delegation, Eyes Stronger European Partnerships

Bhubaneswar, Sept 1 — In a strategic diplomatic engagement, Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi welcomed a delegation of senior Indian Foreign Service (IFS) officers from the 2000 and 2001 batches at Lok Seva Bhawan.

The meeting underscored Odisha’s growing ambition to strengthen international ties, particularly with European nations.

The delegation included Dr. Manoj Kumar Mohapatra (Ambassador to Romania), Shri Amit Narang (Ambassador to Slovenia), and Mrs. Gloria Gangte (High Commissioner to Malta). The envoys praised CM Majhi’s leadership and Odisha’s rapid development, referring to him as the “People’s CM.”

Discussions focused on global diplomacy, youth empowerment, and cultural promotion. The ambassadors highlighted Europe’s rising demand for skilled professionals, noting Odisha’s potential to meet this need.

CM Majhi spotlighted the success of the “Skilled in Odisha” initiative, which has gained global recognition for its training and placement programs.

“We are committed to empowering our youth and showcasing Odisha’s rich cultural heritage across Europe,” said CM Majhi.

The meeting also saw the presence of Chief Secretary Manoj Ahuja and Principal Secretary to CMO Saswata Mishra, reinforcing the state’s unified push for global engagement.
