Odisha CM Forms High-Level Panel to Address Teachers’ Long-Pending Demands
Bhubaneswar, Dec 3: In a significant move aimed at resolving long-standing grievances in the education sector, Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi announced the formation of a high-powered committee to examine demands raised by teachers, professors, and non-teaching staff across government, aided, and block-grant institutions.
Speaking in the State Legislative Assembly, Majhi emphasised that multiple associations have repeatedly highlighted issues related to service conditions, welfare, and institutional support.
The government, he said, is committed to addressing these concerns in a structured and time-bound manner.
The committee will be chaired by retired IAS officer Ashok Kumar Tripathy and tasked with conducting a comprehensive review of demands from both the School & Mass Education Department and the Higher Education Department.
It has been directed to submit its report within six months.
This initiative marks a decisive step toward bridging gaps between educators and policymakers, signalling the government’s intent to strengthen the state’s education ecosystem.
