Odisha CM Distributes Appointment Letters to 964 Government Recruits in Major Job Drive

Bhubaneswar(OT Webdesk): In a significant move to bolster employment across Odisha, Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi today handed out appointment letters to 964 newly selected candidates across five key government departments.

The event, held at OUAT’s Agriculture Education Hall, marked a milestone in the state’s ongoing campaign to empower youth and strengthen public services.

The distributed posts spanned Junior Engineers, Enforcement Officers, Legal Metrology Inspectors, Tracers, and Junior Accountants.

The department-wise breakdown includes 563 appointments in the Public Works Department, 117 in Panchayati Raj and Drinking Water, 204 in Housing & Urban Development, 62 in Water Resources, and 18 in Food Supply & Consumer Welfare.

“This initiative underscores our government’s commitment to channelling youth potential toward Odisha’s development,” said CM Majhi.

He highlighted the administration’s goal of filling 1.5 lakh government positions within five years, with 28,346 jobs already filled and 45,000 youths placed in private sector roles during the first year of his tenure.

The job drive is further powered by flagship initiatives like Shilpa Yaan and Excellence Odisha 2025, aimed at creating over 1.29 million jobs across 16 sectors with Rs 1.7 lakh crore investment.

So far, 56 industrial establishments have been launched under the initiative, promising 1.1 lakh additional jobs.

In a youth-friendly move, the government has extended the maximum age for job applications to 42 years.

The Chief Minister reiterated the administration’s focus on inclusive growth, economic empowerment, and robust public service delivery.
