Odisha CM Condemns Assault on Odia Youth in Tamil Nadu

In a shocking incident that underscores the vulnerabilities faced by migrant workers, an Odia youth was reportedly assaulted in Tamil Nadu.

The attack, described as unprovoked, has sparked outrage and prompted strong condemnation from Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi.

Calling the assault a “barbaric act,” Majhi emphasised that such violence undermines the spirit of national unity and must be dealt with urgently. “The Odisha government is treating this matter with the utmost seriousness,” he said, assuring that his office is in continuous contact with Tamil Nadu authorities to ensure the victim receives proper medical care and support.

The Chief Minister further pledged that steps are being taken to facilitate the youth’s recovery and safe return if necessary.

He urged Tamil Nadu officials to swiftly investigate the matter and bring the perpetrators to justice.

This incident has reignited concerns about the safety of interstate migrant workers, who often face challenges in unfamiliar environments.

The Odisha government has vowed to monitor the situation closely and provide updates as investigations progress.
