Bhubaneswar, Apr 1: Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi on Tuesday laid the foundation stone for the ‘Integrated Development of Madhusudan Das Birthplace.’
Addressing a state-level Odisha Day program in Satyabhamapur, the birthplace of Utkal Gaurav Madhusudan Das, Majhi stated that the project, being developed with an investment of Rs.21 crore, will include improvements to Madhubabu’s birthplace, the construction of an interpretation center, the enhancement of Entudishal, the installation of a statue, the building of a guest house and a library, and the introduction of a light and sound system at the reservoir.
The Chief Minister described Satyabhamapur as a sacred site and a pilgrimage for the people of Odisha. He announced that the location would be developed as a center of Odia nationalism.
“Satyabhamapur is not just the birthplace of Madhubabu but a place of pilgrimage for every Odia. This land gave birth to the visionary who spearheaded the rise of the Odia language in modern India and played a crucial role in the formation of an independent Odisha province,” he said.
He further remarked that Odisha Day is a celebration of Odia identity and pride. “We are commemorating Odisha Day in the very land of Madhu Babu, which laid the foundation for the creation of a separate Odisha province,” he added.(UNI)
