Odisha CM Approves Major Salary Hike for AYUSH Doctors Under NHM
Bhubaneswar: In a significant move to strengthen healthcare delivery, Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi has approved a substantial salary hike for contractual AYUSH doctors working under the National Health Mission (NHM).
The revised pay structure will benefit 2,912 doctors across the state, with increments ranging from Rs 20,000 to Rs 40,000 depending on years of service.
Doctors with less than five years of service will now receive a minimum salary of Rs 56,948, while those with over 15 years of service will earn Rs 91,467 per month.
This decision is expected to boost morale among AYUSH practitioners and enhance the quality of healthcare services in Odisha.
The hike will add an annual financial burden of Rs 1 crore to the state exchequer, but officials believe the investment will pay off in improved medical support for citizens.
The move underscores the government’s commitment to strengthening AYUSH healthcare and ensuring better working conditions for doctors serving under NHM.
