Odisha CM Announces 3% DA Hike for Govt Employees Ahead of Diwali

Bhubaneswar, October 16, 2025 — In a festive gesture aimed at easing inflationary pressures and boosting morale, Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi has announced a 3% hike in Dearness Allowance (DA) for state government employees and pensioners. The move raises the DA from 55% to 58%, benefiting nearly 8.5 lakh individuals across the state.

The revised DA will be implemented retrospectively from July 1, 2025, and disbursed in cash with the October salary. Pensioners will also receive a corresponding 3% increase in their Time-bound Increment (TI), reflected in their October pension.

“This decision reflects our government’s commitment to employee welfare and acknowledges the tireless contributions of public servants,” said CM Majhi. “We hope this support helps families celebrate Diwali with greater joy and financial ease.”

The announcement aligns Odisha’s pay structure more closely with central government revisions and is expected to stimulate household spending and local markets during the festive season.
