Odisha Clears Rs 4,739 Cr in Investment Projects to Create 25K Jobs

In a significant boost to Odisha’s industrial landscape, the State Government has approved 25 new investment proposals totalling Rs 4,739 crore during the 140th meeting of the State Level Single Window Clearance Authority (SLSWCA).

Chaired by Chief Secretary Manoj Ahuja, IAS, the approvals are poised to generate over 25,200 employment opportunities across nine districts, including Khordha, Jajpur, Cuttack, Sambalpur, Jharsuguda, Ganjam, Mayurbhanj, Angul, and Gajapati.

Under the leadership of Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi, these initiatives align with the state’s vision of Samrudha Odisha 2036, emphasising inclusive growth, balanced regional development, and sustainable industrialisation.

The projects span 13 diverse sectors, such as textiles, steel, chemicals, IT, infrastructure, logistics, renewable energy, tourism, metal downstream, circular economy, cold storage, and capital goods, showcasing Odisha’s commitment to a resilient and future-ready economy.

Key highlights from the approvals include major thrusts in the textiles sector, which alone accounts for several high-employment projects. Colortone Textiles Pvt. Ltd. will invest Rs 700.29 crore in an integrated textile facility in Khordha, creating 1,010 jobs. Techno Activewear Pvt. Ltd. plans a Rs 100 crore sportswear unit in Cuttack, generating 2,500 positions, while Hindalco Industries Ltd. will establish apparel units in Keonjhar and Sambalpur with a combined Rs 200 crore investment, adding 2,400 jobs. Other notable textile ventures include SCM Garments Pvt. Ltd.’s Rs 150 crore knitted garments unit in Cuttack (4,000 jobs), Carloo Tex Pvt. Ltd.’s Rs 60 crore readymade garments facility in Cuttack (2,500 jobs), Perfect Infra Vision Pvt. Ltd.’s Rs 110.70 crore textile plant in Balangir (1,050 jobs), Wovinova Pvt. Ltd.’s Rs 57.53 crore non-woven consumables unit in Cuttack (210 jobs), Piu Fashion Pvt. Ltd.’s Rs 96.99 crore garments unit in Khordha (3,700 jobs), and Aditi Lifestyle Pvt. Ltd.’s Rs 209.36 crore knitted fabric and garment facility in Khordha (1,080 jobs).

In the IT and infrastructure domains, Linde India Ltd. is set to establish a Rs 82 crore Global Competency Centre in Khordha, creating 210 skilled jobs, alongside a Rs 105.70 crore pipeline cluster in Jajpur for Tata Steel and others, adding 35 positions.

Tourism receives a luxury upgrade with SYCE India (OPC) Pvt. Ltd.’s Rs 107.42 crore 5-star resort in Sambalpur, expected to employ 150 people. The mechanical and electrical capital goods sector sees Rahee Track Technologies Pvt. Ltd. investing Rs 140 crore in a heavy steel casting foundry in Khordha, generating 150 jobs.

Steel expansion is highlighted by Konark Ispat Ltd.’s Rs 990 crore project in Jharsuguda, including a rolling mill, pellet plant, DRI, billet plant, and CPP, which will create 2,000 jobs. In the metal downstream, Mascot Electromech Pvt. Ltd. will set up a Rs 97.76 crore fabrication and galvanising unit in Mayurbhanj, employing 350 workers.

Promoting sustainability, BEIL Infrastructure Ltd. will invest Rs 320.70 crore in a circular economy facility in Ganjam, featuring a 200 KLD ETP and creating 145 jobs. Logistics gets a push with Saizar Enterprise Pvt. Ltd.’s Rs 127.86 crore warehousing park in Angul (310 jobs), while renewable energy advances through Prozeal Green Energy Ltd.’s Rs 140 crore 69.5 MW solar park in Subarnapur (360 jobs). PPD Ispat Pvt. Ltd. will establish a Rs 51 crore 20,000 MT cold storage unit in Gajapati (120 jobs), and Sirius Speciality Chemicals Pvt. Ltd. plans a Rs 205.44 crore carbon electrode paste plant in Jajpur (600 jobs).

These approvals underscore Odisha’s dynamic governance and investor-friendly policies, positioning the state as a top destination for business in India. As Chief Minister Majhi’s administration continues to prioritise ease of doing business, these projects are expected to drive equitable economic progress, empower local communities, and contribute to a prosperous future.
