Odisha Clears Rs 225 Crore Dues for Rural Housing Outsourcing Staff

Bhubaneswar, Oct 15, 2025 — In a major relief for grassroots workers, the Odisha government has secured swift central assistance to release long-pending salaries of outsourcing staff engaged in rural housing construction under the Panchayati Raj and Drinking Water Department.

Approximately 700 workers, who had been awaiting their dues due to procedural delays, will now receive their payments following the Centre’s approval of Rs 225 crore in outstanding funds.

Department officials confirmed that disbursement will begin immediately, ensuring continuity in housing schemes that benefit thousands of families across the state.

This move underscores the government’s commitment to frontline workers and rural development, especially those contributing to the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY) and other housing initiatives.
