Odisha Chief Secretary Reviews Development Schemes, Urges Speedy Implementation
Bhubaneswar: Odisha Chief Secretary Anu Garg convened a virtual meeting with District Collectors to assess the progress of key government development schemes, including MLALAD, MPLADS, and the Chief Minister’s Special Assistance program.
During the review, Garg emphasised the need to fast‑track incomplete projects and initiate pending ones to ensure timely benefits for citizens.
She directed Collectors to resolve bottlenecks related to land acquisition, afforestation, and power supply, particularly in large‑scale drinking water projects.
The meeting also focused on mineral management, with districts instructed to expedite submission of District Survey Reports (DSRs).
Proposed airport and heliport projects were reviewed, with officials asked to address land and environmental challenges.
Infrastructure requirements of the Excise Department were discussed, including the establishment of new offices, stations, and mobile units.
Collectors were tasked with identifying suitable sites for these facilities.
Senior officials from multiple departments joined the meeting, reflecting the state’s push for grassroots development, improved infrastructure, and better resource management.
