Bhubaneswar, (Orissa Today), Aug 23: Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi has expressed profound concern and sadness over a tragic bus accident in Nepal’s Tanahun district, where an Indian-registered bus plunged into the Marsyangdi River, resulting in the deaths of at least 14 people.
The incident occurred on Friday around 11:30 am, involving a bus carrying 40 passengers.
In a heartfelt message on social media, CM Majhi conveyed his condolences to the victims’ families. He wrote on X: “The news of the Indian bus falling into the Marsyangdi River in Nepal is deeply heartbreaking. I extend my heartfelt condolences to the families of those who lost their lives and pray for the eternal peace of the departed souls. My thoughts are with those injured, and I pray to Lord Jagannath for their swift recovery.”
A rescue operation is currently in progress, with 45 Armed Police Force personnel, led by SSP Madhav Paudel, working tirelessly to assist the affected and manage the situation.
