Odisha Charts Bold Roadmap for Viksit Odisha 2036

Bhubaneswar, Feb 27: Odisha has unveiled its ambitious roadmap for Viksit Odisha 2036, aligning with India’s national vision of Viksit Bharat 2047, at the inaugural Vikash Manthan 1.0 – Governance in Action conclave.

Organised by the Planning & Convergence Department in collaboration with the Odisha Centre of Integrated Development (OCID), the event brought together policymakers, scholars, and thought leaders to chart a transformative path for the state.

Chief Secretary Anu Garg outlined Odisha’s economic and social transformation plan, highlighting a projected Gross State Domestic Product (GSDP) of Rs 9.9 lakh crore in 2025–26, with a real growth rate of 7.9%—surpassing the national average.

The state’s per capita income has tripled over the past decade, underscoring its progress toward becoming a high-income, inclusive, climateRs resilient, and innovationRs driven economy.

Speakers emphasised the importance of cultural identity and civilisational ethos in shaping development.

Dr Prafulla Ketkar, Editor of The Organiser, stressed anchoring growth in Odia Asmita, while Development Commissioner Deoranjan Kumar Singh described the conclave as a “Gyana Yagnya”—a confluence of ideas and governance.

The event also presented the Vision Document 2036 & 2047, setting strategic priorities for balanced, sustainable, and inclusive growth.

With plans to institutionalise Vikash Manthan as an annual forum, Odisha aims to accelerate its journey toward becoming a model of collaborative governance and innovation‑led development.
