Bhubaneswar, May 10, 2025 (OT Webdesk) – In response to the worsening security situation following recent India-Pakistan hostilities, the Odisha government has issued a high-priority directive cancelling all sanctioned leaves for senior district-level officers.
Revenue Divisional Commissioners (RDCS), District Collectors, and District Magistrates (DMS) have been ordered to return to their headquarters immediately, reinforcing administrative preparedness in light of the ongoing crisis.
This decision follows Pakistan’s missile and drone strikes across the border and India’s subsequent retaliatory Operation Sindoor.
The Odisha administration stressed the necessity of ensuring swift emergency response mechanisms, coordinating with central agencies, and maintaining high vigilance across all districts.
State sources confirmed that emergency control rooms have been activated, and top bureaucrats are closely working with disaster management, health, and security officials.
The government has made it clear that no further leave applications will be entertained until the situation stabilises.
Officials are expected to prioritise security measures and ensure effective disaster preparedness in anticipation of further developments.
With tensions escalating and nationwide security measures tightening, Odisha’s latest directive underscores the growing need for heightened administrative readiness during these uncertain times.
