Odisha BSE Matric Exam 2026 Begins With Tight Security Measures

Bhubaneswar: The annual matriculation examination conducted by the Board of Secondary Education (BSE), Odisha, commenced today with over 5,61,979 students appearing across 3,082 centres statewide.

The exams, scheduled from February 19 to March 2, mark one of the largest academic exercises in the state.

The first paper, MIL (Odia), was held under strict supervision. Gates opened at 7:30 am, with students frisked and verified before entry.

Teachers encouraged candidates with motivating words, while students arrived early, reflecting their preparedness.

Authorities have introduced advanced monitoring systems to ensure transparency and fairness.

Question papers were dispatched from nodal centres and opened in front of students and superintendents.

A three-tier squad system, special vigilance teams, and AI-enabled CCTV cameras have been deployed to monitor packet openings and exam hall activities.

Question papers carry QR codes and watermarks to prevent malpractice.

A command and control room in Cuttack is overseeing 24-hour monitoring, while superintendents are required to submit daily reports. Mobile phones are strictly prohibited for staff inside exam centres.

The Odisha government has emphasised inclusivity and equal opportunity, ensuring that the exam process remains transparent and accountable.

With heightened security and digital surveillance, the BSE aims to conduct the matriculation exam smoothly and fairly for all students.
