Odisha Boosts Paddy Support Price to Rs 3,169 for Kharif 2025
Bhubaneswar, Nov 5 — In a major boost to farmers ahead of the Kharif 2025 season, the Odisha government has announced a revised paddy procurement rate of Rs 3,169 per quintal, combining the Central Minimum Support Price (MSP) of Rs 2,369 with an additional Rs 800 input subsidy.
The move is aimed at offsetting rising input costs and ensuring fair returns for cultivators across the state. Grade ‘A’ paddy will fetch Rs 3,189 per quintal, offering higher compensation for premium varieties.
The Food Supplies and Consumer Welfare Department confirmed the revised rates via official notification.
Procurement agencies will begin purchasing at the new rates once harvesting begins. Farmers are required to register and submit necessary documentation to avail the benefits.
This initiative is expected to benefit lakhs of farmers, particularly in paddy-dominant districts such as Bargarh, Kalahandi, and Balasore.
The government’s proactive approach underscores its commitment to agricultural growth and rural prosperity.
