📍 Bhubaneswar | July 5, (OT Webdesk): Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi has approved the restructuring proposals for Odisha’s Fisheries and Horticulture Services cadres, aligning with the state government’s aim to boost agro-economic development.

A total of 217 new posts have been created in the Fisheries cadre, increasing the overall number from 618 to 835. Similarly, the Horticulture Services cadre has seen an addition of 67 new posts, raising the tally from 403 to 470.

This strategic expansion is expected to strengthen grassroots operations, increase production capacities, and move Odisha closer to its target of producing 33 lakh metric tonnes of fish annually by 2036. Most of the newly created posts are field-level positions that will accelerate regional outreach and bolster local employment.

Officials highlight that the move will facilitate better management at the district and state levels, ensuring efficient implementation of schemes related to aquaculture and horticulture.
