Bhubaneswar, (Orissa Today), June 6: Following the announcement of the election results, the process of constituting the new Assembly in Odisha commenced on Thursday, as the state’s Chief Electoral Officer (CEO), Nikunja Bihari Dhal, met with Governor Raghubar Das at Raj Bhavan in Bhubaneswar.
Dhal presented the gazette notification to the Governor, signifying the formation of the new Assembly, which will pave the way for the establishment of the new house, according to official sources.
Accompanied by representatives from the Election Commission of India (ECI) and other senior officials, the CEO handed over both the ECI notification and the Odisha gazette notification pertaining to the newly-elected MLAs to the Governor.
In response, Governor Das extended congratulations to the ECI, the CEO, and the entire election apparatus in the state for orchestrating free, fair, accessible, and peaceful elections.
