Odisha Bar Associations Hold Statewide Elections Today

Bhubaneswar: In a landmark exercise of democratic participation within the legal fraternity, bar associations across Odisha, including the prestigious High Court Bar Association, are conducting elections today under the directive of the Odisha State Bar Council.

Polling began at 7:30 AM and will continue until 3:00 PM, with counting scheduled to start at 4:00 PM. Results are expected by late evening.

The elections are being held simultaneously in 165 bar associations across the state.

At the High Court Bar Association alone, nearly 5,000 voters are casting their ballots to elect office bearers for key positions, including President, Vice President, Secretary, Joint Secretary, Assistant Secretary, Treasurer, Library Secretary, and Executive Members.

The process is being conducted under the “One Bar, One Vote” principle to ensure transparency and fairness.

Tight security arrangements have been put in place at polling venues to maintain order.

The outcome of these elections will shape the leadership of Odisha’s legal fraternity for the upcoming term, marking a significant moment in the state’s judicial ecosystem.
