Odisha Assembly Winter Session: Traffic Diversions Announced in Bhubaneswar

Bhubaneswar, Nov 26: The Commissionerate Police has issued a traffic advisory ahead of the 5th Session of the 17th Odisha Legislative Assembly, scheduled from November 27 to December 31, 2025.

The measures aim to ensure smooth traffic flow and heightened security around the Assembly premises.

Under Section 28 of the Odisha Urban Police Act, 2003, and Regulation 36 of the Bhubaneswar–Cuttack Police Commissionerate (Traffic and Public Order) Regulation, 2008, several diversions have been announced for key city routes.

  • Housing Board Square → Rabindra Mandap: Vehicles diverted at Keshari Talkies Square
  • AG Square → PMG: Right turn at Jaydev Bhawan via IG Park Road
  • Master Canteen → PMG: Diversion through adjoining lanes near Lower PMG
  • 120 Infantry Battalion Square → Rabindra Mandap: Rerouted via Power House Square
  • Raj Bhawan Square → MLA Colony / Rabindra Mandap: Diversion at 120 Battalion Square towards Sastrinagar Square

Emergency vehicles—including police, fire services, and ambulances—are exempt, along with vehicles authorized for entry into the State Assembly, Lok Seva Bhawan, and other government buildings.

The restrictions will remain in force on all days when the Assembly is in session, with police urging commuters to plan their travel accordingly.
