Odisha Assembly Proceedings Adjourned Twice Amid Opposition Uproar

The sixth day of the Odisha Assembly Budget Session witnessed repeated disruptions as opposition members created a ruckus during the question hour.

Legislators from the BJD raised concerns over farmers’ issues, while Congress members pressed for discussion on the Epstein file scandal.

Despite repeated appeals from Speaker Surama Padhy to maintain order, the protests continued, forcing her to adjourn the House twice — first at 11:30 am and later for 30 minutes.

The Speaker has now called for an all‑party meeting to resolve the impasse and ensure the smooth functioning of the Assembly.
