Odisha Assembly Marks Constitution Day with Preamble Reading
The Odisha Legislative Assembly observed Constitution Day with a solemn reading of the Preamble of the Indian Constitution.
Speaker Surama Padhy led the special programme, reaffirming the House’s commitment to democratic values and constitutional principles.
The event witnessed the participation of Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi, Deputy Chief Minister Kanak Vardhan Singh Deo, Chief Whip of the ruling party Saroj Pradhan, Chief Whip of the Opposition Pramila Mallik, Congress Legislature Party Leader Rama Chandra Kadam, Parliamentary Affairs Minister Dr. Mukesh Mahaling, Deputy Speaker Bhabani Shankar Bhoi, Deputy Chief Whip Gobind Das, MLAs Jaynarayan Mishra and Ranjan Ekka, Assembly Secretary Satyabrat Raut, along with officers and staff of the Assembly Secretariat.
The collective reading of the Preamble symbolised unity across party lines and underscored the Assembly’s dedication to safeguarding the values enshrined in the Constitution.
The programme also set the tone for the upcoming Winter Session, where cooperation among parties has been emphasised by the Speaker.
