Odisha Assembly Guest House Expansion Begins | 57-Room Facility by March 2026
Bhubaneswar, Sept 6 — In a move to modernise legislative infrastructure and address space constraints, the Odisha Legislative Assembly has initiated the expansion of its old guest house located at Unit 4.
The foundation stone was laid today by Speaker Surama Padhi, accompanied by Deputy Speaker Bhabani Shankar Bhoi and Assembly Secretary Satyabrata Rout.
The new three-storey structure, spanning over 9,000 sq ft, will add 16 rooms to the existing 23, bringing the total to 39.
Equipped with elevators and modern amenities, the facility aims to provide comfortable lodging for former legislators and visiting dignitaries.
Combined with the newer guest house near the OMC office, which offers 18 rooms, the total accommodation capacity will rise to 57. The upgraded premises will feature online booking and 24/7 security, ensuring seamless access and safety.
The ₹3.08 crore project is slated for completion by March 31, 2026, marking a significant step toward enhancing hospitality infrastructure within the Assembly campus.
