Odisha Assembly Adjourned Amid Uproar Over Farmers’ Issues

Bhubaneswar: The Odisha Assembly witnessed chaotic scenes today as opposition members disrupted proceedings during Question Hour, demanding urgent discussion on farmers’ distress.

Legislators from both the BJD and Congress carried placards, shouted slogans, and accused the government of neglecting agricultural concerns.

Speaker Pramila Mallick was forced to adjourn the House until 11:30 a.m. as the uproar made it impossible to continue.

The opposition insisted that farmers’ issues must be prioritised, highlighting the growing political tension inside the Assembly.

This disruption underscores the mounting pressure on the state government to address agricultural challenges, with opposition parties signalling that they will continue to press for accountability in upcoming sessions.
