Odisha Assembly Adjourned Amid SCB Hospital Fire Protests

The Odisha Assembly witnessed uproar on Wednesday as legislators protested the tragic SCB Medical College and Hospital fire that claimed 13 lives.

The session was adjourned until 11:30 AM after BJD MLAs entered the House wearing black t‑shirts emblazoned with “weak Chief Minister,” demanding the resignation of Health Minister Mukesh Mahaling.

Opposition members shouted slogans and staged a walkout, intensifying the pressure on the government.

BJD Chief Whip Pramila Mallick and MLA Arun Sahoo criticised Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi for failing to act decisively, calling him “weak” for not removing the Health Minister.

The protesting MLAs vowed to continue their agitation until accountability is fixed and their demands are met, signalling turbulent days ahead for the Assembly.
