Bhubaneswar, May 21, ( OT Webdesk) – The State Election Commission of Odisha has announced by-elections for various rural local body positions, including Zilla Parishad Members, Panchayat Samiti Members, Sarpanchs, and Ward Members.

Polling is scheduled for June 23, with vote counting to take place on June 24.

The nomination process begins on May 26 and runs until May 31, excluding government holidays.

To ensure fair elections, the Model Code of Conduct will remain in effect in the affected constituencies from May 20 to June 24.

Vacancies have arisen due to resignation, disqualification, death, and the absence of eligible candidates for reserved seats.

Among the affected regions, Zilla Parishad elections will be conducted in districts such as Kendrapara, Keonjhar, and Sambalpur.

Additionally, 771 Ward Member positions across 13 districts will be filled due to seat de-reservation.

The Election Commission has instructed officials to strictly comply with electoral guidelines, ensuring a smooth and impartial voting process. Political parties are expected to submit the necessary nominations within the deadline.
