Odisha agriculture performance PM-RKVY Krishonnati Yojana
Union Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has lauded Odisha’s effective implementation of key agricultural schemes during a nationwide review meeting held via video conference on January 29, 2026.
The meeting assessed progress under the Pradhan Mantri Rashtriya Krishi Vikas Yojana (PM-RKVY) and Krishonnati Yojana.
Odisha’s Deputy Chief Minister and Agriculture Minister Kanak Vardhan Singh Deo reported that the state has utilized 79% of PM-RKVY funds and 80% of Krishonnati Yojana funds, reflecting a strong commitment to agricultural development.
Chouhan praised Odisha’s performance, urging officials to maintain momentum and continue prioritising farmers’ welfare.
The state has requested early release of remaining funds to launch six new agricultural projects, aimed at strengthening food security, promoting sustainable farming practices, and advancing natural farming, crop diversification, and millet promotion.
Odisha’s initiatives are being positioned as a model for other states.
Senior officials, including Dr Arabinda Kumar Padhee, Shri Shubham Saxena, and Dr Ganeshwar Jena, participated in the review, highlighting Odisha’s proactive approach to agricultural growth and innovation.
