Odisha Achieves Record Paddy Procurement in 2025–26 Kharif Season
Odisha has set a new milestone in agricultural procurement, recording 75.20 lakh metric tonnes (MT) of paddy during the 2025–26 Kharif season.
Out of 75.45 lakh MT arrivals at mandis, nearly the entire stock was procured, marking one of the most successful seasons in recent years.
Approximately 18.11 lakh farmers participated in the procurement drive, while millers lifted 73.46 lakh MT from government centres.
The state government disbursed Rs 22,337.60 crore directly into farmers’ bank accounts through Minimum Support Price (MSP) and input assistance, ensuring transparency and financial security.
District-wise, Bargarh led the tally with 7.70 lakh MT arrivals, closely followed by Kalahandi (6.43 lakh MT), Ganjam (5.58 lakh MT), and Subarnapur (3.79 lakh MT).
The procurement trend has shown steady growth over the past three years:
- 2023–24: 58.03 lakh MT
- 2024–25: 73.02 lakh MT
- 2025–26: 74.92 lakh MT
This reflects a 16 lakh MT increase in just two years, underscoring Odisha’s strengthening rural economy and effective governance in agricultural support.
