Odia Pakhya 2026: Odisha’s 14-Day Celebration of Language and Culture

Odisha is gearing up for the second edition of Odia Pakhya, a 14-day cultural extravaganza scheduled from April 1 to 14, 2026.

Initiated by Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi in 2025, the festival aims to integrate the Odia language, traditions, and heritage into everyday life while fostering pride among citizens.

Each day of the festival is dedicated to a unique theme—from Odisha Day and Traditional Attire Day to Heritage Runs, Blood Donation Camps, and Traditional Food Day.

Schools, NGOs, youth groups, and cultural organisations are encouraged to participate actively.

To boost engagement, the government has launched the Odia Pakhya App and official website, enabling citizens to join quizzes, upload reels and selfies, and earn digital certificates.

The initiative blends heritage with modern digital tools, making it a statewide cultural movement that celebrates Odisha’s identity while promoting inclusivity and participation.
