Odia Film Puyodakam Earns Acclaim at Jagran Film Festival
Mumbai, Nov 19: Odia cinema made a powerful mark at the prestigious Jagran Film Festival with the screening of Puyodakam, directed by acclaimed filmmaker Shivaprasad Mahanti.
The film, produced by GunGun and Reena Jena, was showcased between November 13–16, 2025, and received widespread appreciation from both audiences and critics.
With its compelling storyline, unique presentation, impactful performances, and high-quality production design, Puyodakam stood out among the international entries.
The film’s creative team included executive producer Nirmalya Kumar, sound designer Subas Sahu, and cinematographer Prem Jayan, while the music was composed by Subas Sahu and Arun Jyoti.
The cast featured GunGun, Sritam Das, Gargi Mahanti, Abhishek Giri, Shubhranshu Nayak, Bibhu Das, and Purnendu Dutta, alongside the presence of veteran actress-director Vijaya Jena (Dolly).
Following its successful run at national and international festivals, Puyodakam is expected to release on the big screen soon, bringing Odia cinema to a wider audience and reinforcing its growing presence in the global film landscape.
