Nyaya Sanhita Exhibition Extended Till March 12 in Bhubaneswar

Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi has announced that the Nyaya Sanhita Exhibition at IDCO Exhibition Ground will remain open until March 12, extending its run by two days.

The exhibition, inaugurated on March 6 during Union Home Minister Amit Shah’s visit, highlights India’s new criminal justice framework — Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS), and Bharatiya Sakshya Adhiniyam.

Majhi praised Odisha Police’s awareness campaigns, including street plays, and emphasised that the new laws replace colonial‑era frameworks with citizen‑centric justice.

He noted Odisha’s conviction rate rose to 87.6% by the end of 2025, while Zero FIRs increased by 166%, reflecting stronger investigation and trial processes.

The CM also laid the foundation for national and central forensic institutions and signed MoUs with IIT Bhubaneswar and National Defence University to modernise police training.

The exhibition has drawn senior police officials, students, and legal professionals, aiming to educate citizens about the impact of India’s revamped justice system.
