Nuapada District Development Projects Reviewed: Commissioner Stresses Timely Execution
Nuapada district, one of Odisha’s backward and aspirational regions, is set for a major transformation with Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi’s Rs 1,555 crore development package.
On Monday, Development CommissionerRs cumRs Additional Chief Secretary Deoranjan Kumar Singh chaired a highRs level review meeting to assess the progress of these projects.
The package includes Rs 802 crore earmarked for irrigation infrastructure, aimed at boosting agricultural productivity and supporting farmers.
Singh directed officials to expedite irrigation schemes, drill and electrify 1,064 deep borewells, and fast‑track road and building construction.
Local MLAs raised pressing issues during the meeting, urging immediate resolution.
District Collector Madhusudan Dash, senior officials from water resources, police, and representatives of the local MP also participated.
Nuapada has already launched innovative campaigns such as plastic‑free drives, “Jhie Pain Gachh Tie” (tree for every girl child), health services for the elderly, and animal welfare initiatives.
Singh emphasised that projects are at various stages—completed, ongoing, tendering, or DPR‑prepared—and called for cooperation between officials and citizens to meet deadlines.
Residents expressed optimism that the review will accelerate implementation, bringing tangible benefits and fulfilling the CM’s vision of holistic development for Nuapada.
