Nuapada Bypoll: Central Observers Lay Groundwork for Fair and Peaceful Election

Nuapada, Odisha — In a decisive move to ensure transparency and neutrality in the upcoming Nuapada by-election, three central observers appointed by the Election Commission of India convened a high-level meeting with all legislative candidates and their representatives on October 25.

The observers—Prakash Bindu (IAS), Atul Pandey (IRS), and B Shankar Jaiswal (IPS)—joined the session at the Collector’s conference hall, reinforcing the Commission’s commitment to a disciplined and impartial electoral process.

District Collector and Election Officer Madhusudan Das welcomed the officials and briefed attendees on the meeting’s objectives.

Deputy Collector Sheikh Nasim Pawar presented detailed insights into election protocols, including expenditure monitoring, law-and-order arrangements, and adherence to the Model Code of Conduct. Candidates were issued clear guidelines to maintain decorum and avoid malpractice during the poll period.

The by-election is scheduled for November 11, and the observers assured that every step will be closely monitored to uphold democratic integrity. This proactive engagement signals a robust framework for peaceful polling in Nuapada.
