Nuapada By-Election Set for November 11: Key Dates and Security Measures Announced

The Election Commission of India (ECI) has officially announced the schedule for the by-election in Odisha’s 71-Nuapada Assembly Constituency, marking a pivotal moment in the state’s political landscape.

According to the notification published in the Extraordinary Issue of the Odisha Gazette, the electoral process will unfold over the next month with critical deadlines and security protocols in place.

  • Last date for nominations: October 20, 2025
  • Scrutiny of nominations: October 22, 2025
  • Withdrawal of candidatures: October 24, 2025
  • Polling date: November 11, 2025
  • Completion of election process: November 16, 2025

To ensure voter safety, especially in Left-Wing Extremism (LWE)-affected areas, polling hours have been adjusted. Voting will take place from 7 AM to 4 PM in LWE-affected booths, while other booths will remain open until 5 PM.
