Talcher,(Orissa Today) May 13 : “A transformative Leadership Excellence Bootcamp was organized by NTPC Safety department Talcher Thermal in collaboration with Safety consultant M/s ASK EHS Engineering and Consultant Pvt. Ltd., on May 10th and 11th, 2024, at NTPC Talcher Thermal, Odisha. The event was inaugurated by Shri Goutam Deb, Head of Project Talcher Thermal, and attended by esteemed guests Sh. J P Roy (GM Projects-NTPC Talcher Thermal), Sh. Deepak (GM Engineering Services NTPC Talcher Thermal), Sh. S K Kodape (GM Projects-BHEL), and senior executives from NTPC & BHEL.
The boot camp was designed to hone leadership qualities, foster excellence, and promote a culture of continuous improvement, thereby ensuring a safer work environment at the site. With a structured agenda aimed at facilitating reflection, open discussion, and collaborative learning, participants were provided with an invaluable platform to exchange experiences and address challenges, and best practices.
Sharing insights at the event, Shri Goutam Deb, Head of Project at Talcher Thermal emphasized the importance of leadership and added, “In today’s time, it is imperative to build leadership both internally in institutions as well as externally at social levels and Talcher Thermal remains committed to implement the best safety practices and build sustainable leaders for today and tomorrow.”
The sessions were conducted by Lead trainer Ms. Sonal Nangia and Mr. J K Anand, Founder & Director of ASK EHS Engineering and Consultant Pvt Ltd. Commenting on the session, Mr. Anand added, “The role of leadership in creating a safety culture is paramount, where compliance isn’t just about rules but a moral obligation.”
Considering the ongoing stage III project construction at Talcher Thermal, the boot camp sparked a transformation towards safety excellence, with participants emerging as Safety Leader champions ready to make a difference in their fields. Together, they aim for a future where safety is integral to every aspect of operations, ensuring the well-being of every employee daily. These initiatives set new standards for safety excellence.
The serene setting of the boot camp provided an ideal environment for deeper reflection and strategic thinking, making it both a developmental and rejuvenating retreat.
