Nor’wester Rains to Bring Relief for Odisha from April 12

Nor’wester Rains in Odisha

The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has announced the arrival of Nor’wester rains in Odisha, beginning April 12, promising relief from the sweltering heat.

The forecast predicts thunderstorms accompanied by lightning, gusty winds, and occasional hail across various regions of the state.

Experts warn that wind speeds could soar to 70–75 km/h during this period, caused by a trough line in northern India and intensified by a low-pressure area over the northeast Bay of Bengal.

Rainfall is likely to persist until April 17, with interior Odisha expecting light rain from April 11. Following the wet spell, temperatures are projected to rise, with interior regions possibly crossing the 40°C mark after April 14.

Residents are advised to stay alert during storms and take necessary precautions to ensure safety.
