No Disruption in Rations: Odisha Pushes e-KYC Deadline to December 2025

In a major relief for food security beneficiaries across Odisha, the Department of Food Supplies and Consumer Welfare has extended the deadline for Aadhaar-based e-KYC verification under the National Food Security Act (NFSA) and State Food Security Scheme (SFSS) till 31 December 2025.

The e-KYC process is being facilitated at 11,827 Fair Price Shops (FPS) and Ration Card Management Centres spread across 314 blocks and 64 urban local bodies. Beneficiaries who have not yet completed the verification can visit their nearest center with their Aadhaar card to complete the process.

Importantly, the department has assured that no eligible beneficiary will be denied monthly Public Distribution System (PDS) commodities due to non-completion of e-KYC. The government emphasized that food security benefits will continue uninterrupted, and urged all beneficiaries to complete the process early to ensure seamless service delivery.

This move is expected to streamline welfare delivery while maintaining inclusivity and access for vulnerable populations.
