No Discord in BJD: Pramila Mallik and Discipline Committee Stress Unity After Electoral Defeat

Amid murmurs of dissatisfaction following the Biju Janata Dal’s (BJD) recent electoral setback, senior MLA and former Assembly Speaker Pramila Mallik has firmly dismissed speculation of internal discord.

She clarified that ongoing discussions within the party are focused on analysing the reasons behind the defeat and strengthening organisational strategies, not blame games.

Mallik underscored that veteran leader Badri Narayan Patra has not spoken against the party and remains a loyal member. “There is no discord anywhere in the BJD. No finger‑pointing or blame games are happening.

Badri Babu is a veteran member of the party and can meet Naveen Babu whenever he wishes,” she said.

Echoing this sentiment, Discipline Committee member Sarada Prasanna Jena reiterated that while differences in opinion are natural, no one in the party is disobedient.

He stressed that discipline and unity under Naveen Patnaik’s leadership remain paramount. The committee is closely monitoring developments and will act if any statements harm the party’s image.

These reassurances come as the BJD undertakes introspection after its electoral defeat, with leaders emphasising unity, discipline, and adherence to the party’s core values to rebuild under Naveen Patnaik’s guidance.
