New Passenger halt at Taraboi to serve IIT, NISER & local communities

Bhubaneswar, Sep 18 (UNI) East Coast Railway (ECoR) has made a new Passenger Halt at Taraboi, located between Khurda Road and Khurda Town stations, operational to serve students and faculty of IIT Bhubaneswar, NISER, and nearby educational institutions.

Inaugurating the facility, BJP Lok Sabha Member Aparajita Sarangi said the much-awaited halt would also benefit residents of Taraboi and adjoining Gram Panchayats.
She noted that with four pairs of trains halting here, daily commuters would enjoy improved convenience and connectivity.

The MP added that the halt will not only strengthen links to educational hubs, healthcare facilities, and surrounding villages but also boost tourism to historic sites such as Barunei Hills, Khurda Fort, and Barunei Temple.
Khurda Road Divisional Railway Manager Alok Tripathi said the halt fulfilled a long-pending local demand and underscored Indian Railways’ commitment to inclusive growth, last-mile connectivity, and regional development.
