Bhubaneswar, May 2, 2025 (OT Webdesk) – KIIT University in Bhubaneswar was shaken by tragedy as a first-year B.Tech Computer Science student, Prisha Saha from Nepal, was discovered dead in her hostel room on Thursday evening. Authorities suspect suicide, though investigations are ongoing to determine the exact circumstances of the incident.
The unsettling event marks the second such case involving a Nepalese student in the past three months, raising concerns about campus safety and student well-being. The absence of a suicide note has added complexity to the investigation, prompting forensic teams to examine the case thoroughly. The student’s friends are cooperating with authorities to uncover any potential contributing factors.
In response, the Odisha government expressed condolences and assured full support to Prisha’s family. Senior officials, including the Police Commissioner and the Revenue Divisional Commissioner, were dispatched to oversee the investigation and ensure proper procedures were followed. University officials, along with investigative teams, are evaluating whether external factors played a role in the incident.
