Bhopal ( OT webdesk): The Madhya Pradesh High Court has placed a temporary hold on the release of NEET UG 2025 results following complaints from a student in Indore regarding a power outage that disrupted the exam.
Justice Subodh Abhyankar ruled on May 16 that the results should remain on hold until further review, as concerns about exam fairness surfaced.
During the NEET UG exam on May 4, adverse weather conditions reportedly led to electricity failures at select centres, forcing some students to complete their tests under candlelight.
Affected aspirants have expressed frustration, questioning the credibility of the assessment process under such circumstances.
The court has directed the National Testing Agency (NTA), the Central Government, and the MP West Zone Electricity Distribution Company to submit official responses within four weeks.
With over 21 lakh NEET UG aspirants awaiting their scores, the previously expected result date of June 14 now hangs in uncertainty.
Legal experts speculate that the ruling could have far-reaching implications, possibly extending beyond Indore to affect students in other regions who experienced similar difficulties.
The next court hearing is set for June 30, keeping students and parents on edge as they await further developments.
