Naveen updates social media handle after stepping down as Odisha CM
Bhubaneswar,(Orissa Today), June 12: Reports on Wednesday revealed that former Chief Minister of Odisha, Naveen Patnaik, has updated his social media handle, X (formerly Twitter).
The profile description, previously stating “CM of Odisha,” has been modified to “President, Biju Janata Dal (BJD).” Patnaik, who led Odisha for an extensive 24 years and 3 months since 1997, lost to the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in the 2024 General Elections.
On June 5, Odisha CM Naveen Patnaik tendered his resignation to the Governor as his remarkable tenure came to a close. Initially assuming office as Chief Minister on March 5, 2000, he stepped down exactly after 24 years and three months.
Naveen Patnaik, widely regarded as the most popular Chief Minister of Odisha, continues to hold a special place in the hearts of millions despite his party’s defeat. Throughout his tenure, he broke numerous records both within the state and nationally, holding the longest tenure as Chief Minister in Odisha’s history. Had he served a sixth term, he would have set a new record for the longest-serving Chief Minister in the country.
