Naveen Patnaik Slams BJP Over Development Lapses at Nuapada Rally
Nuapada, Odisha — In a fiery election rally at Komna block, BJD president Naveen Patnaik launched a scathing attack on the BJP, accusing the party of stalling Odisha’s development and misleading the public with hollow promises.
Campaigning for BJD candidate Snehangini Chhuria, Patnaik declared that the BJP had become “heroes in publicity, zero in performance.”
He listed several unfulfilled commitments by the BJP, including free electricity, enhanced pensions for senior citizens, fertiliser supply, and cotton subsidies.
Patnaik also raised alarm over rising crimes against women and deteriorating law and order, citing delays in Mission Shakti payments and questioning the effectiveness of Ayushman Bharat compared to Odisha’s BSKY scheme.
Highlighting BJD’s achievements, Patnaik pointed to the Biju Expressway, irrigation for over 10,000 hectares, clean drinking water access, and tribal welfare initiatives in Sunabeda sanctuary.
He accused the BJP of “stealing votes” and “poaching candidates,” calling it a betrayal of public trust.
The rally also saw speeches from senior BJD leaders, including Prasanna Acharya, Manoj Mishra, MP Niranjan Bisi, and MLA Adhiraj Panigrahi, all reinforcing support for Chhuria.
Patnaik urged voters to respond to this “breach of trust” by voting for the conch symbol on November 11.
