Naveen Patnaik Returns to Odisha After Surgery, Receives Grand Welcome

Bhubaneswar, July 12(OT Webdesk) — Biju Janata Dal (BJD) president and former Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik returned to Odisha today following a successful spine surgery in Mumbai.

His arrival at Biju Patnaik International Airport was met with an emotional and grand reception by thousands of supporters waving party flags and chanting “Jai Jagannath.”

The 21-day recovery concluded with Patnaik’s discharge from Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital, where he underwent cervical spine surgery performed by Dr. S. Rajasekaran.

Currently serving as Leader of Opposition in the Odisha Assembly, Patnaik is expected to gradually resume public duties.

BJD senior vice president Debi Prasad Mishra commended the party’s leadership team for seamlessly managing affairs during Patnaik’s absence, emphasising the unwavering support of the cadre.

The symbolic and spirited homecoming highlights the veteran leader’s enduring political influence and emotional bond with the people of Odisha.
