Naveen Patnaik Restructures BJD’s Youth and Student Wings to Strengthen Grassroots Leadership
Bhubaneswar, Dec 28: In a significant organisational move, Biju Janata Dal (BJD) President Naveen Patnaik has announced new state committees for the party’s youth and student wings, aiming to amplify the voice of Odisha’s younger generation.
The Biju Yuva Janata Dal (BYJD) will now have 160 office bearers, including four working presidents, while the Biju Chhatra Janata Dal (BCJD) will feature 145 office bearers with five working presidents.
The restructuring emphasises diverse regional representation and the inclusion of skilled young leaders from across the state.
BYJD President Chinmay Sahu highlighted the party’s long-term vision, pledging to continue serving as the people’s voice for the next century and to protest against what he described as the BJP government’s neglect.
BCJD President Ipsita Sahu criticised the ruling BJP for deteriorating law and order, rising violence against women, and discontinuation of student scholarships, vowing to fight against anti-people policies.
This announcement follows BJD’s foundation day celebrations, where district-level committees were unveiled.
The move positions BJD as a strong opposition force in Odisha, focusing on youth empowerment, women’s safety, and grassroots mobilisation.
