Bhubaneswar, June 20(OT Webdesk): Odisha’s Leader of Opposition and BJD supremo Naveen Patnaik has travelled to Mumbai for a critical cervical arthritis surgery scheduled on June 22 at Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital.

The procedure will be conducted under the supervision of his personal physician, Dr. Ramakanta Panda.

Ahead of his departure, a large crowd of BJD supporters and leaders gathered at Naveen Nivas, offering prayers and performing pujas for his swift recovery.

Notably, women leaders from the party performed religious rituals to invoke blessings from Lord Jagannath for Patnaik’s health.

Taking to social media, Patnaik shared, “On doctors’ advice, I will undergo treatment for cervical arthritis on June 22 in Mumbai.

With blessings from Lord Jagannath and good wishes from the people of Odisha, I will soon be back to serve you all.”

In his absence, senior BJD leader Debi Mishra will take over temporary party duties.

The announcement has sparked a wave of public concern and goodwill, reflecting the deep connection between Patnaik and the people of Odisha.
