Naveen criticizes Odisha Government, urges support for BJD in Nuapada Assembly by poll

Bhubaneswar, Nov 7 (UNI) Biju Janata Dal (BJD) President Naveen Patnaik today criticised the BJP government in Odisha, stating that development cannot be achieved through false propaganda.

“Simply painting over issues will not bring progress. A government cannot run on empty promises,” Patnaik said during a road show at Khariar Road and Nuapada, campaigning for BJD candidate Snehangini Churia ahead of the Nuapada Assembly bypoll scheduled for November 11.

He highlighted that under the BJD government, sectors such as education, health, transportation, drinking water, irrigation, and tribal welfare saw significant improvement.

In Nuapada, thousands of acres of land received irrigation facilities, and notable progress was made in the drinking water supply.

Additionally, the construction of the Biju Expressway during the BJD’s tenure has opened new opportunities for the region’s economic growth.
However, Patnaik claimed that development projects have stalled under the current BJP government. He questioned what the BJP has achieved for the people during its first 500 days in office.

The BJD President also criticised the government for failing to deliver on promises, including 300 free electricity units, Rs. 3,500 pensions, urea fertiliser for farmers, and employment opportunities for youth.

Under Mission Shakti, he noted that mothers are still unable to access loans, and the harmful practice of Kothni has not stopped, leaving him disappointed.

“In these 500 days, the people have received only deception and double-deception,” Patnaik said.

“Governments can lie, candidates can steal, but they cannot win people’s hearts. The anger and sorrow of the common people are still visible in Nuapada,” Patnaik stated.

He urged the public to vote for BJD candidate Snehangini Churia under the conch symbol and called on Churia to serve the people of Nuapada.
